Communication: Spanning Cultures, Change and Challenges

The 9th European Convention of The Association for Business Communication (ABC) will be held at the Divan Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey, 23-26 May 2007.

The Conference is organized in conjunction with the Department of Public Relations and Publicity, Faculty of Communication, Yeditepe University.  The University will host the participants for the reception on campus on Friday, 25 May 2007.

The conference theme, "Communication: Spanning Cultures, Change and Challenges," emphasizes the need to build a bridge through communication between different cultures and to span old and new ideas.  Having served as the capital city of three empires, and as a bridge between two continents, Istanbul has both witnessed and challenged changes and contradictions throughout centuries. A point of convergence between the waters of the Black and Marmara Seas, Istanbul is located at the crossroads of commerce and culture. This rich historical heritage makes Istanbul an ideal location for such a multidisciplinary meeting.
